How we started out
- Laurel Brokers was established in 1985 to market long term insurance products.
- In 1991 Lydia Mokoena joined Laurel Brokers as an insurance agent.
- Willie Horn and Lydia Mokoena started a FAMILY FUNERAL scheme in 1994 which was underwritten by Rentmeester. During 2006 we changed to Hollard as the new underwriter.
- In 1998 Lydia Mokoena became the Director of Laurel Society. LAUREL BROKERS became the responsible Administrator.
- In 2007 Bakoena Brokers cc was established with Lydia Mokoena as the Director.
- Laurel Brokers has entered into a joint venture with Bakoena Brokers as well as Jeff and John Sibanyoni of Ukhozi Funeral Parlour in Sebokeng to broaden the service we provide to our Funeral Group Scheme clients.
